This morning, Engine 112 & Engine 113 responded to a devastating house fire on Darlington Avenue in Aberdeen, assisting Aberdeen Fire Department and Aberdeen Proving Ground Fire & Emergency Services. The fire, which broke out around 8:15 a.m., tragically claimed two lives and left a 77-year-old man injured.

Upon arrival, Aberdeen Police officers attempted to enter the home but were pushed back by heavy flames and smoke. Over 70 firefighters battled the fire for more than an hour, eventually bringing it under control and locating two victims inside. The injured man was transported to Bayview Medical Center, and an Aberdeen Police officer was treated for smoke inhalation.

Fire investigators remained on the scene throughout the day, working to determine the cause and origin of the fire. While the investigation is ongoing, officials have found no evidence of a criminal act and are focusing on possible accidental causes. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will confirm the identities of the victims.

While Engine 112 & 113 were assisting in Aberdeen, Rescue Engine 1 & Engine 315 were dispatched to a farm vehicle fire on Old Level Road, ensuring continued fire protection for our community.

Our thoughts are with the families affected by this tragedy. We thank all responding agencies for their dedication to serving Harford County.
