Fire Chief Marvin Jackson, President Sandra Gallion, and Auxiliary President Karen Lopes lead our organization with vision, integrity, and a commitment to fostering teamwork. Level Volunteer Fire Company was born out of necessity in 1953, when a local house fire inspired the community to organize their own volunteer fire service. Starting with a used 1939 Dodge tank truck housed in Chief Bob Knight’s garage, the company quickly grew, building its first firehouse in 1954 through the dedication of its members. Over the decades, Level VFC expanded its facilities, established the Ladies’ Auxiliary, launched an ambulance service, and became known for innovation, including acquiring the county’s first 10-man cab FMC/Spartan Gladiator in 1985. Today, Level Volunteer Fire Company stands as a testament to the resilience and commitment of its volunteers, continuing its proud tradition of protecting and serving the community.
